Freelance PR and Events Photographer
Since 2007, I have been a Freelance PR and Events Photographer and coming from an editorial/press background, I have plenty of experience. Working as a freelance PR photographer, I usually receive a brief from the client. A good concise brief can make a commission more straight forward and ensure one is focusing only on what the client requires and not superfluous information. The world of marketing and public relations covers all aspects of business and non-business sectors. Clients as varied as Saatchi & Saatchi, Macmillan Cancer Care, the RNLI and Grosvenor Casino mean you will never know what the next commission will bring.
Working as an event photographer, I have been commissioned to shoot large regional evens such as the Great Yorkshire Show and the Macmillan Charity Race day at York Racecourse. More often than not, it tends to be conferences and store openings and facilities.
Sheffield and Yorkshire Based - Working throughout the North
Although I am based in Sheffield, my work as a Freelance Photographer takes me throughout the north of England. Typically, I work in Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Lincolnshire but I travel all-round the country.
Sheffield, in South Yorkshire, is packed full of creativity and is said to contain more artists than any other UK city apart from London. Many large manufacturing businesses still flourish in this green city providing an interesting juxtaposition for the photographer.
Before becoming a freelance photographer, I trained as a Reportage Photographer in Sheffield for many different newspapers, so I know the city very well and was delighted to move back here in 2012. For many years I have undertaken PR, business and corporate work in South Yorkshire and beyond. Doing shoots for company brochures and adverting as well as providing pictures for press releases that ultimately end up in the papers, such as the Yorkshire Regional Newspapers.
