Yorkshire Fashion and Editorial Photographer
As a Yorkshire based Fashion Editorial Photographer I have worked closely with Northern Based publications shooting Fashion Editorials. From Lingerie to Barbour coats to conceptual college fashion.
I love to work with the whole styling team coordinating the looks with hair and make-up and finding ways to make that mesh with the locations. Working in unusual environments and shoot locations can pose its own set of challenges too.
Yorkshire is Full of Fashion
Lighting can often be an issue and when you have a day to shoot 20 or 30 different looks you have to work quickly and accurately. Another aspect about fashion photography that makes it fun is working on location.
I spend a lot of my time as a freelance photographer working with people who are not necessarily comfortable in front of the camera. Being able to put people at ease and still get the shots I’m happy with is important. Working in Fashion can be liberating in the sense that you can think purely aesthetically and be very specific with how you want something to look, a nice change but it’s still important to keep it fun too.
There are lots of designers creating amazing garments in Yorkshire. Two of the more interesting locations for fashion shoots over the last few years have been Armley Mill in York and the North York Moors Railway in Yorkshire. See my recent post on Yorkshire Fashion and Press Coverage.
I have worked with large fashion chains as well as small designers just starting out. If you require a Fashion Editorial Photographer please drop me a line or give me a ring for a chat. I am more than happy to help the next Vivienne Westwood on their way.
