Commercial Photography in Rotherham – Bisley Workwear
Choosing a commercial photographer is always a risk for a new client. I was delighted when recently asked to shoot some last-minute commercial photography in Rotherham for Australian workwear brand Bisley. Essentially the brief specified shots of a new ball cap and with some additional items of clothing. The images would be to accompany a press release. After chatting with the clients, we decided on the location of Manvers Park industrial estate, in Rotherham. Another one of my clients is based in Manvers Industrial Estate so I fortunately knew it. I thought the backdrop of the industrial units would offer some structure to the background. Also, its would not be specific to any industry.
Rotherham Industrial Estate
This is one of those jobs that bridges portraiture, fashion and commercial photography. When I shoot a job like this one its typically only going to take an hour. Perfect for me as Rotherham is close. The perfect location means you can get potential four to five different backgrounds all within metres of each other. Sometimes a variety of colours or textures of backgrounds works well too. A repeating pattern or structure works well to add interest as long as it does dominate the image. Meaning that for each outfit change you can get some different shots. Have some variety in pose is good too. Some images sitting and some leaning. A walking shot also works adding a dynamic element to the shots.
I also asked the client to bring along any props that would work for the shots. I was not 100% sure I’d use them in the images but its nice to have some options. These super quick commercial photography jobs are so much fun o shoot. Doug Jackson Photgraphy is often booked for PR jobs in Rotherham as well as longer ½ and full day shoots. Bisley were delighted with the results.
